UP-CIFAL Philippines discusses upcoming projects with UN Resident Coordinator

04 JULY 2019, MANDALUYONG CITY, PHILIPPINES–UP-CIFAL Philippines Director Dr. Edna Co and United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator Ola Almgren discussed two of UP-CIFAL Philippines’ upcoming projects, the Professional Course on Global Migration and the High-level Forum on Global Migration.

A collaborative initiative by UP-CIFAL Philippines and UN-related and affiliated organizations, the Professional Course on Global Migration aims to capacitate primarily those in the front line of migration–related work in the bureaucracy and in advocacy work. The pilot offering will take place in August.

The High-level Forum on Global Migration, on the other hand, seeks to discuss migration and development as well as their challenges with selected embassies of countries with several Filipino migrants, the academe, national government agencies, local government units, select migration groups, and the mainstream media. The event will be held on December 2 in time for the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.
