UP-CIFAL Philippines highlights economic growth, decent work in financial exchange program

05 JULY 2019, MANDALUYONG, PHILIPPINES–UP-CIFAL Philippines highlighted sustainable development goal (SDG) 8: economic growth and decent work in a financial exchange program attended by nearly 200 micro-entrepreneurs.

Ma. Christine Sanchez, program officer for SDGs of UP-CIFAL Philippines, explained that SDG 8.3 aims to formalize and encourage the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing access to financial services. Moreover, SDG 8.10 seeks to strengthen the capacity of domestic financial institutions to expand access to financial services for everyone.

The lecture on SDGs is part of the P3 Financial Exchange, an event organized by the Department of Trade and Industry-National Capital Region (DTI-NCRO) and Mandaluyong City government to provide an affordable micro-financing for MSMEs.
